Ferrari 308 GTB Quattrovalvole Bloemendaal Classic & Sportscars
In 1977 Ferrari launched a Targa-top version of their 308 GTB known as this 308 GTS. It was this car which was made famous in Magnum, P.I. starring Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator driving a bright red Ferrari 308 GTS. Launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1977, the targa topped 308 GTS was introduced.

Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS. The Ferrari 308 was equipped with a transverse mid-engine and rear-wheel drive with design by Pininfarina. A targa-topped 308 GTS introduced in late 1977 further enhanced the model's popularity. Production of the 308 GTB began in late 1975. It joined a Ferrari model line up that comprised the mid-Flat 12-engined 365 GT4 BB (soon to be replaced by the 512 BB), the front V12-engined four-seat 365 GT4 (soon to be replaced by the 400) and the 308 GT4.

In late 1982 the Ferrari 308 would evolve yet again into the 308 GTS Quattrovalvole (QV). A GTB Quattrovalvole (berlinetta) was also introduced. The main change from the 308 GTSi it succeeded were the four valves per cylinder—hence its name, quattrovalvole, literally "four valves" in Italian—which pushed output back up to 240 hp (179 kW) restoring some of the performance lost to emissions.
